I'm looking forward to the next few weeks once things get less stressful so I can have more time to practice the uke, because I really haven't had any time lately and I'm pretty sure I'm actually getting worse at it. But hopefully I can make up the lost bits I've learned and forgotten so I can play better and better.

Playing the uke gets less fun the more difficult it gets, which is to be expected when learning any instrument (or any other task you learn how to do). I'm going to start working on my ted talk this week so I'll hopefully be able to present some time in the near future.
I've learned another strumming pattern that I'm getting good at. I plan on playing a lot more during spring break since I'll have a lot of free time. Hopefully I can master a song or two during break.
I've learned how to play the entirety of one song that I've memorized, which is fun and cool. I don't know why or how but my ukulele has been staying in tune for longer, which makes playing it easier.
My muscle memory is getting better with remembering the different strumming methods. Everything is starting to feel more natural now that I have these basic building blocks set. Things are going well, and progress is being made slowly but surely.
I'm seeing a steady progression of progress and growth. I practice a lot outside of class in order to get good at playing, and it's starting to really pay off. I'm also finding that it's really fun to just noodle around (which is playing whatever you think of and not playing a specific song). My muscle memory is getting better with strumming, which is cool.
Explain how your original idea for your passion is changing or growing.
Explain important lessons you've learned through your research or work. Identify ways you have grown as a learner/researcher/artist. When I stared this project, I honestly thought it was going to be a lot simpler than it actually is. Without my passion for music, I don't think I would be able to continue this project. It's taking a lot of tedious practice. I've learned that perseverance is key throughout all of this. I'm growing as an artist because I'm also learning how to make my own original music, which I've wanted to do for years. I'm also growing as a learner because I'm becoming more patient. My idea is driven by my passion, because if I didn't love music and have the desire to learn the uke then I would've given up on this a while ago. Despite the fact that this project is tedious and mildly infuriating at times, it's still fun and rewarding because I'm learning and getting better, slowly but surely. I've learned patience more than anything throughout working on this project. I've grown as a learner because I've been teaching myself on my own, which takes dedication and perseverance.
I've been watching more videos of people playing the ukulele in order to find an easier way to strum. I think I'm going to try this way where you kind of plant your arm at the base of the ukulele and just move your wrist up and down to strum. It seems like a simpler way to strum than strumming with your whole hand, but more complicated than strumming with two fingers like I have been.
I don't know if I've mentioned this yet on the blog, but I've memorized almost all of the basic chords necessary to play most songs, and I've memorized how to play a couple songs I like. However, still working on strumming properly, but I'm still making progress. Always making progress. Need to practice more because I haven't been lately because I've been very busy, but will get on top of it this week.
